Revolutionizing the decades-old defence recruitment process, the central government on Tuesday announced the ‘Agnipath‘ scheme for recruiting soldiers in the Army, Navy and Air Force. Under which the recruitment of soldiers will be done on a contract basis for a short period of four years. Under this scheme, about 50,000 soldiers will be recruited for the three services this year.
