IN-SPACe authorizes India’s first set of space start-ups Dhruva and Digantra to launch payloads
“Indian Space Promotion and Authorisation Centre (IN-SPACe) has approved two space startups –Dhruva Space and Digantara to launch their payloads in space,” said IN-SPACe Chairman Pawan Kumar Goenka.
The Indian Space Promotion and Authorisation Centre(IN-SPACe) is a single-window nodal agency, an autonomous, monitoring and supervising of the space activities of Non-Governmental Private Entities (NGPEs) in India.
First time in space, the two privately-owned Indian enterprises will be launching payloads.
On June 30 Dhruva’s payload Dhruva Space Satellite Orbital Deployer and Digantara’s payload ROBust Integrating Proton Fluence Meter will be launched. The Prime Minister said there are 100 space starts up are presently working in India’s space sector.
ISRO was the only government body that was authorized to launch into space in the previous time.
For the purpose of non-military and military over the globe, the Dhruva Space offers full-stack space engineering solutions based in Hyderabad which was founded in 2012 by Sanjay Srikanth Nekkanti. Satellite provides Earth stations and launches services to its clients.
Digantra which is based in Bengaluru and founded by Anirudh Sharma & Rahul Rawat offers end-to-end solutions for carrying out sustainable space operations.
IN-SPACe of Ahmedabad is the brainchild of the Department of Space. It basically regulates and promotes the space activities of NGEs in India.
Some startups that are currently working with IN-SPACe are Agnikul, Astrome, Skyroot, Dhruva Space & Digantara.
The report shows that India owns a 2-3% share of the global space market, which is estimated to reach $423 Bn by 2030. The country’s share is probably to enlarge by 48% CAGR by 2030.
